Joel Wilfred Riggs, 60, passed away September 21, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Joel was born on February 20, 1958 in Royal Oak, MI to the late Leo and Shirley Riggs. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country from 1985 until 1992. Joel was a very giving person and always helped those in need. He enjoyed collecting coins, cooking, and watching cooking shows.
Joel is survived by his wife, Janie Riggs; his two sons, Joel and Jeremy Riggs; his brother, Tom Riggs; and his two sisters, Colleen Francois and Noreen Riggs.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at Georgia Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
